Hailing from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, The Petty Things were formed by a group of seasoned musicians united by a deep respect for the music of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. In the wake of Petty’s passing, guitarist Myles Sharp, along with Todd Durbin (guitar), Scott Andersen (drums), Roberto Rodriguez (keyboards), and Seth Morgan (bass), came together to honor his legacy the only way they knew how — live, loud, and with heart. Rather than dressing in costumes or relying on digital enhancements, The Petty Things focus on substance over spectacle. There are no wigs, no backing tracks, no smoke and mirrors — just five musicians playing real instruments through real tube amps, channeling the spirit of Petty’s music with conviction and precision. The Petty Things aim for authenticity in every performance. Their shows are a journey through Petty’s vast catalog, offering beloved hits for the casual fan and deep cuts for the die-hards. Often joined onstage by The Sharp Sisters — providing powerful backing vocals and percussion — the band delivers an immersive, all-live experience that captures the timeless sound and soul of American rock and roll. More than a tribute, The Petty Things are a living celebration of […]

Bay Saint Louis, MS – The 100 Men Hall invites the community to special concert with Blue Mountain Band, a hill country blues and alt-country experience that is free to the community on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 7:30PM. There will be food for purchase by Big Bertha’s Kitchen and Catering and a cash/credit bar. Blue Mountain was formed in 1991 by husband-and-wife team, Cary Hudson and Laurie Stirratt. The duo drew their name from a small town near their home base of Oxford, Mississippi, where the band members first began soaking up the region’s rich hill country blues scene and incorporating their earlier influences while growing up in the south in the 70's and 80’s. Blue Mountain was signed to indie label Roadrunner Records and in 1995 released “Dog Days", an album cut mostly live in the studio with drummer Frank Coutch and producer Eric “Roscoe” Ambel at The Studio, owned by Lou Whitney in Springfield, MO. The album comprised many songs from their first eponymous release and garnered the band critical success in alt-country circles. Two more albums followed on Roadrunner, Home Grown in 1997, and Tales of a Traveler in 1999. An album of all public-domain roots covers, simply titled Roots followed in 2001, before their […]

There's more to the duality of Clay Walker's album, Texas to Tennessee than the title. Certainly, the realities of place are as central as this comeback album's name implies: Nashville busily working toward the next fresh hit; Texas moving at its inimitable and familiar pace. There's also a mix of songwriting and production approaches, evident and more nuanced relationships between the songs themselves, and the overarching presence of a naturally gifted vocalist who relentlessly pursues his own development as a singer. But don't mistake those dualities for dichotomy – and certainly not polarity. In a storied career dotted with smash singles, platinum albums and countless honors and acclaim, maybe the connection between country's timeless themes and music-of-the-moment timeliness has been there all along. Many of the country fans behind the almost 20 million on-demand and video streams for his latest single "Need A Bar Sometimes" – who may also be among his 750,000 TikTok followers – are wholly unaware of Walker's history. Discovered in a Beaumont area bar by noted producer and head of Giant Records James Stroud (Toby Keith, Tracy Lawrence, Tim McGraw, Kenny Rogers), Walker was in his early twenties when he started rattling off a string of smash hits. Among […]

Midland Double Grammy® nominees Midland have sought to reintroduce the Western plains, Laurel Canyon-cum-Bakersfield and Lone Star juke joints to Country music since coming together at a friend’s wedding over common influences and the need for a return to this sort of post-Urban Cowboy Country. For lead singer/guitarist Mark Wystrach, bassist/vocalist Cameron Duddy and lead guitarist/vocalist Jess Carson, the double platinum hit “Drinkin’ Problem” set the stage for their critically acclaimed On The Rocks and No. 1 Billboard Top Country Albums debut Let It Roll to unite classic country fans, hipsters and media including Entertainment Weekly, GQ, The Washington Post, Vogue, Esquire, Variety, Rolling Stone Country and NPR. Based in Dripping Springs, Texas, the trio of songwriters who developed their sound at Tornillo, Texas’ storied Sonic Ranch have been building a following that’s sold-out the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show, packed a multiple-night stand at Ft. Worth’s iconic Billy Bob’s and re-opened North Hollywood’s legendary Palomino Club for one night only. Bringing listeners a resurgence of their thick harmonies, sad melodies, tart lyrics, and steel guitar with their latest album The Last Resort: Greetings From (Big Machine Records) the retro-Nuevo trio has grown from bar band to an in-demand headliner who has even put together their own cruise setting sail April 2024 (MidlandCruise.com).

“That Little Ol’ Band From Texas” has been at it for well over a half century, delivering rock, blues and boogie on the road and in the studio to millions of devoted fans. With iconography as distinctive as their sound, ZZ TOP is virtually synonymous with beards, hotrod cars, spinning guitars and that magic keychain, all of which transcend geography and language. It was in Houston in the waning days of 1969 that ZZ TOP coalesced from the core of two rival bands, Billy Gibbons’ Moving Sidewalks and Frank Beard and Dusty Hill’s American Blues. Their third album, 1973’s Tres Hombres, catapulted them to national attention with the hit “La Grange,” still one of the band’s signature pieces today. Eliminator, their 1983 album was something of a paradigm shift for ZZ TOP. Their roots blues skew was intact but added to the mix were tech-age trappings that soon found a visual outlet with such tracks as “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs” on the nascent MTV. It was one of the music industry’s first albums to have been certified Diamond, far beyond Gold and Platinum and a reflection of US domestic sales exceeding 10 million units. As a touring entity, they’ve […]
