ONE MISSISSIPPI

September 28

Bay Saint Louis, MS – The 100 Men Hall is hosting a day of play: games, activities, food, music and laughter for all ages called ONE MISSISSIPPI on Sunday, September 28, 2025. We invite everyone to come ready to play, bring a chair, and an appetite for some good old fashioned fun.

The event is free to the community. There will be food for purchase and a cash/credit bar. Sign up to participate and compete for activities at the event. The day starts at the Mockingbird with a Fun Run at 7AM, moves to the 100 Men Hall (inside and out) at 11AM, and ends at 6PM with Grammy nominated Mardi Gras Indian Big Chief Monk Boudreaux & The Golden Eagles on the historical stage of the 100 Men Hall. What a day!

We are going to show the world what real community looks like. We’re going to remind our neighbors, we do not need to wait for a natural disaster to show our unity. We the people are at our best when we come together. The Bay Saint Louis community is going to lead by example and showcase what’s happening here and watch it ripple out across every state.

Sherry Hill

Sherry has been fascinated with music for as long as she can remember. Although the piano was her first love, she is grateful for her masterful voice. “Of all the gifts God had to give, He gave me the best,” she says. When Sherry was 15 years old, she sang at the 100 Men Hall accompanied by a band. Sherry sings with the acclaimed St. Rose Gospel Choir. She has sung the National Anthem in the boxing ring at a match hosted by Casino Magic (now Hollywood), also at the Ground Zero Museum (formerly Waveland Elementary), and at other functions. She sang the Negro National Anthem (Lift Every Voice And Sing!) on the Tin Shed porch on June 20, 2025.

Bay Ratz Marching Battery

This home-grown drum corps writes their own performance pieces. They perform all over the coast and especially around Mardi Gras.  For those who live elsewhere: a Bay Rat is the time-honored coast name for a resident of Bay St. Louis. Rats and Mice – they both rock!

Big Chief Monk Boudreaux

Take me downtown on the battlefield; and when you meet ‘em that morning you’d better not kneel.”

2X Grammy nominee Joseph Pierre “Big Chief Monk” Boudreaux is the leader of the Golden Eagles, a Mardi Gras Indian tribe of New Orleans, Louisiana. Born in New Orleans on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1941, Boudreaux is a vital figure in the tradition and has steadfastly distinguished himself as a gifted folk artist and dynamic performing musician through his unwavering dedication to this singular African American culture.
